Charles "Chick" DeLong Announced as the Award Recipiant

Dear Team, Customers, and Friends of A.N. Webber,

I am proud to recognize Charles "Chick" DeLong as A.N. Webber Inc.'s 2024 Driver of the Year. Since joining us on January 9, 2001, Chick has shown dedication, professionalism, and hard work. He has earned the respect of his colleagues, family, and friends.

Chick’s journey to trucking is inspiring. Born in Chebanse, Illinois, he worked at Nucor before switching careers due to a health concern. That led him to A.N. Webber, where he found not just a job but a passion for driving. “This is the only truck driving job I have ever had,” Chick says. “Webbers has always treated me well, and the Kankakee dispatchers have been incredible.”

Trucking has its challenges, like early pickups and deliveries, but Chick loves the freedom and travel. South Dakota is his favorite place for its beauty, and he enjoys driving through Tennessee the most.

When not driving, Chick enjoys riding his Polaris RZR with family. He loves spending time with his wife Tracy, stepchildren Codi, Shelby, and Graci, and his seven grandchildren. Though he lost his daughter Kalie in 2017, he cherishes his time with his surviving daughter, Sarah.

Chick stays entertained on the road by listening to conservative talk radio and sometimes reading. His favorite meal is steak, potatoes, and asparagus, and Texas Roadhouse is his go-to spot. His drink of choice? “Pepsi is the only thing I drink,” he says.

Chick’s hard work and dedication make him a perfect choice for Driver of the Year. He represents the values of A.N. Webber—integrity, hard work, and family commitment.
